Jetman DVD Announced

Shout! Factory is bringing Choujin Sentai Jetman to DVD in September 2018!

The season will mark the tenth installment in Shout! Factory’s line of complete season Sentai DVD’s that have delighted Toku fans worldwide, and the first season that predates Zyuranger.

Jetman, which initially aired on Japanese airwaves in 1991, was never adapted overseas as a Power Rangers season.

Fans can check out the season synopsis below.

Jetman takes place in 1991 on the Earth Ship, the command center of an international defence agency called Sky Force, the guardian of peace on Earth. In the ship, scientists have developed “Birdonic Waves”, a newly developed technology which gives the subject superhuman abilities. The experiments called “J-Project” were successful. Aya Odagiri, the director of the project, chose five elite Sky Force officials from Earth to use this technology. Ryu Tendo, one of the Sky Force officers, was successfully exposed to the Birdonic waves, making him the first Jetman, the Red Hawk.

However, the Earth Ship is suddenly attacked by Vyram, an evil outer-dimensional organization bent on inter-dimensional domination. They successfully destroy the ship and seemingly killing Ryu’s lover and fellow candidate member Rie, in the chaos. The remaining Birdonic waves that were meant for the other four officials become scattered on Earth, hitting four civilians instead. Odagiri and Tendo successfully escape and begin searching on Earth for the four remaining Jetman, training them to aid them in stopping Vyram’s plans of conquering our dimension.

The official cover art for the DVD has yet to be revealed.

The confirmation comes courtesy of MMPRToys.

Shout! Factory first released Sentai DVD’s in February 2015 with Zyuranger, the show that later became known as the international sensation of Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers. With Zyuranger DVD’s positively selling, Shout! Factory followed up its release with complete season DVD’s for Dairanger, Kakuranger, Ohranger, Carranger, Megaranger, Gingaman, GoGoV, and Timeranger, all of which fans can order on Shout! Factory’s website.

  1. THIS IS FREAKING AMAZING! My friend first told me about this before I actually saw the video and announcements and I didn’t believe it cause I never thought in a million years that Pre-Zyuranger seasons would be released. At least not until after we were caught up on Power Ranger adapted seasons first so this is a huge bomb drop on us that exploded one hell of a surprise. And the best part is that it releases around eight days after my birthday!

  2. I’m a power rangers purist, I’m not a fan of Super Sentai. You do the math. I’m mad that shout factory is making sentai fans happy.

    1. Grow up, leave people alone & be quiet.

We like what we like & you like what you like.

You can’t and won’t make people what you like.

You’re so stupid that you can’t handle the fact that others like different stuff other than yourself, go away!

  3. Listen to me you little piece of sh*t. Stay in your lane or you’re get your ass kicked by me.

      1. He’s just an Internet tough guy T. The more you don’t care about him, the more his relevance dies.

  4. If it wasn’t for Super Sentai you wouldn’t have Power Rangers so thank Sentai & the Japanese for the show that was adapted.

  5. I’m not posting here anymore. This is Mikey. I’m not going to leave comments here anymore. This fandom sucks. Goodbye

    1. Michael, get this through your thick skull. “Power Rangers purism” is not a thing that makes sense. Power Rangers adapts concepts, suits, storylines, & other things from Sentai. You, literally, cannot have PR without Sentai. Realize this & stop making people feel bad for liking something that’s not bad that you happen to not like, k? Otherwise, you’re just making yourself look bad in the process.

  6. I started like watching Super Sentai about 2 years from now. and I like it. I would love to see Juukou B-Fighter (used for Big Bad Beetleborgs.) to be released on DVD by Shout! Factory. That would be great.

  7. Guys! Girls!

Jetman was supposed to be Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, but Haim Saban and Shuki Levy chose Zyuranger instead.
