Tamashii Nations Reveals Power Rangers SDCC 2018 Exclusives

UPDATE: Tamashii Nations will now be selling these toys at Power Morphicon 6 on August 17-19 as well!

Tamashii Nations’ slate of Power Rangers exclusive toys at San Diego Comic-Con 2018 have been revealed!

The popular toy company will be bringing three Power Rangers products exclusively to the year’s biggest comic book/sci-fi convention: a repainted Black Dino Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Megazord, a helmetless Red Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Figuart, and a helmetless Green Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Figuart.

The repainted Black Dino Megazord from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers has never been seen before, and features the iconic robot re-designed in an incredibly sleek, black design. The toy will use the same mold as the highly popular Diecast Megazord/Soul of Chogokin previously released by Tamashii Nations.

The previous Diecast Megazord release sported a hefty price tag. It is unknown what price tag the Black San Diego Comic-Con version will sport.

Also coming to the show will be two previously revealed helmetless Figuarts (recap here). The brand new figures will release for the original Red and Green Power Rangers – Jason and Tommy. Each figure will be modeled after the iconic actors that launched the franchise in the 1990’s, Austin St. John and Jason David Frank.

As part of Tamashii Nations’ incredibly popular SH Figuarts line, each figure used digital technology to re-create the actors’ facial features. The figures come highly detailed, with numerous points of articulation, and can swap their human heads with their Power Rangers helmets.

Price points for the two figures are not yet known, although the toys were first seen on display at Toy Fair 2018. The decision to convert them into convention exclusives in San Diego remains slightly puzzling, with no additional detail known at this time.

There are currently no plans to release helmetless Figuarts for the remaining Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

All of Tamshii Nations’ Power Rangers exclusives at San Diego Comic-Con will be sold under the franchise’s 25th Anniversary umbrella.

More Power Rangers products exclusive to San Diego Comic-Con 2018 will be revealed over the coming weeks.

  1. If those figures don’t end up online/retail somewhere after this I’m going to be so depressed. Hopefully it’s just a special box/metallic version or something and we can get our hands on normal ones without the insane markup.

    1. Tamashii is really good at getting these exclusives stocked. They still have their Samurai set easily available as well as their Armored Black Ranger, both are several years old. Tamashii had both at their booth at Fanime this year. The fact that they plan to have these at Power Morphicon means they dont plan to sell out at SDCC.
