What is Power Rangers: SHATTERED GRID?

Power Rangers: SHATTERED GRID is a massive event celebrating the franchise’s 25th anniversary coming to Power Rangers’ comic book universe. The story line will see Lord Drakkon, an evil version of Tommy Oliver, attempt to eliminate every Power Ranger from the past 25 years.

Power Rangers makes comic books?

Published by BOOM! Studios, two comic book lines currently exist: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Saban’s Go Go Power Rangers. The former aims to add more stories featuring the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers you’ve known and loved, and is currently 24 issues deep. The latter attempts to explore each of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ personal lives in more detail, and is currently 8 issues deep.

Power Rangers: SHATTERED GRID will take place across both comic book lines.

Who is Lord Drakkon?

Lord Drakkon is an evil, older, alternate-reality version of Tommy Oliver. His Zord is the Black Dragon, and his suit is a hybrid design of the original Green and White Rangers. The character was presumably defeated in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Issue #16, but it was later revealed that he remained alive – imprisoned by the government.

In Power Rangers: SHATTERED GRID, Lord Drakkon escapes his imprisonment and returns with a newly reformed deadly army that threatens the existence of every Power Ranger ever. In order to combat the threat, the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers will join forces with teams from all across the franchise’s 25-year history.

Who is the new Yellow Ranger?

The new Yellow Ranger is a Sentry – military-styled soldiers that carry out Lord Drakkon’s evil deeds. The Sentries come in high volume, and offer a heavyweight twist on classic Ranger suits.

Sentries currently exist based on the Mighty Morphin Red, Yellow, Black, and Pink Rangers. They are not Jason, Trini, Zack, or any of the other characters you’ve come to know.

When does Power Rangers: Shattered Grid begin?

Power Rangers: SHATTERED GRID officially begins on March 28, 2018 when Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Issue #25 goes on sale. The event will be broken up into comic book issues that span a release schedule until August 2018.

What is Jason David Frank doing here?

Jason David Frank returned to film this one-off trailer, directed by Kyle Higgins. At this time, there no known future obligations Frank has to return to the Power Rangers franchise as an actor.

So does this mean a new TV show or movie is coming?

At this time, the new Power Rangers: SHATTERED GRID trailer exists only to promote the upcoming comic book event. However, fans have long speculated on the possibility of a future Netflix show, or short film, and those options remain on the table.

  1. Ron Wasserman recently teased something involving Shattered Grid. He said he was under a NDA and couldnt really say anything.

  2. Please make this into a cannon series on Netflix and have the previous rangers or younger look a likes in it for the sake of being true to the Comics. It would be epic as hell to watch.

  3. “No known future obligations Frank has to return to the Power Rangers franchise”
Maybe, but with everything he’s done and said about the franchise, I find it difficult to believe he’ll ever not come back for us.

  4. this needs to be a movie or netflix series. The power rangers movie that came out sucked. This lil short was better than it. It’s on the scale of the 1st movie. Turbo was mehhh next to this. JDF n Saban need to go holla at netflix and make this happen.
