Solar Ranger Revealed

There’s another new Power Rangers arriving on the scene!

In Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #31, fans will meet the Solar Ranger – a brand new character that will appear in BOOM! Studios’ comic book universe as part of the “Beyond The Grid”, the post SHATTERED GRID storyline.

The Solar Ranger will be female, and sport a design that’s primarily black and purple. At this time, not many other details are known about this mysterious, new character including her identity.

Fans can check out the complete Solar Ranger design below.

What side will the Solar Ranger be on – good or evil? What role will she play as the Power Rangers enter a dark, twisted reality? Fans will have to stay tuned to find out when “Beyond The Grid” kicks off in fall 2018.

The Solar Ranger will be the third Power Ranger created uniquely for BOOM! Studios’ comic book universe, following the incredibly popular Lord Drakkon and Ranger Slayer characters. The Solar Ranger will, however, be the first new Power Ranger to be helmed by new comic book series writer, Marguerite Bennet. At this time, the Solar Ranger is not expected to impact the Saban’s Go Go Power Rangers comic book series.

The news was revealed at BOOM! Studios’ Power Rangers panel at Power Morphicon 6 in Anaheim, California.

The post-SHATTERED GRID storyline, titled “Beyond The Grid”, will follow a new team of Rangers – Andros (Red Ranger, Power Rangers In Space), Mike (Magna Defender, Power Rangers Lost Galaxy), Tanya (Yellow Ranger, Power Rangers Zeo), Cam (Green Ranger, Power Rangers Ninja Storm), Ranger Slayer, and the mysterious Talon Ranger (now named the Dark Ranger) from Power Rangers Dino Charge.

The storyline will launch in September 2018.

  1. We’re just using the comics now as a prime opportunity now to make something actually new instead of adapting Japan’s works, aren’t we?
