The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers are back, and ready to own – again!
Shout! Factory is releasing the complete third season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in a special, Steelbook edition package. Featuring the original Red Ranger helmet, the brand new packaging can be seen above.
The announcement follows in the footsteps of Shout! Factory’s release of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie on Blu-ray (click here to recap) Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 1 on Steelbook DVD (click here to recap), and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 2 on Steelbook DVD (click here to recap).
The product will mark yet another release of the complete season on DVD for fans who have yet to pick it up. The DVD will feature all 43 episodes of the hit TV show that blasted Power Rangers into the halls of pop culture fame.
Included in the 43 episodes will be the entire Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers story arc.

As the battle rages on, the Power Rangers are forced to go on a quest to seek out the fabled master ninja, Ninjor. Ninjor teaches them the art of Ninja, giving them new powers and abilities, as well as joining the team himself. Assisted by their new Ninjazords, the superheroes are ready to do battle with Lord Zedd and Rita … but the forces of evil are also reinforced as Rita’s brother, Rito Revolto, and their father, Master Vil,e arrive on the Moon!

Shout! Factory first released Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 3 as part of a Steelbook edition box set in 2018 in celebration of the franchise’s 25th anniversary.
The company has now broken apart that box set into individual releases for each of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers seasons.

I have to say their choice of rangers on the cover confuses me. Normally on the cover, you wanna have something that not only captivates the audience but also summarizes the product. Some of the most impactful stories from MMPR involve Tommy and Kimberly, so why is it not Green Ranger for Season 1, White Ranger for Season 2, then Pink Ranger for Season 3? Or better yet, why not get the whole team in on the covers and for Season 3 they have the cast in the Ninjetti costumes? Makes more sense to me than just the Black Ranger for Season 1, Blue for 2, and the Red Ranger for season 3, when each of those Rangers didn’t really have all that much of an impact in those particular seasons.

I think you’ll find that the other Rangers are on the back; Green (Season 1), Pink (Season 2) & Yellow (Season 3). So that when opened up, the cases show all the Rangers in the order they morph.
